The DVIP is a network video server that provides live video, playback and
backup images, alarm monitoring, Webcam Internet imagery and simultaneous secure
transmission over Ethernet, ISDN and PSTN.
The unit is a combination digital video multiplexing recorder, a network
server that transmits live and recorded images and audio, and a web server that
supports Telnet, FTP and HTTP.
The DVIP is an enterprise solution for VARs, network integrators, IT
consultants and endusers who want to directly integrate it into the enduser
local or wide area network, said Don Taylor, vice president of marketing of
Dedicated Micros. It is ideal for facilities that require video security
management, but that do not require it onsite.
The DVIP automatically transmits alarm notifications from all cameras to a
designated PC over a single IP address. The unit is available with up to 16
camera inputs and up to 500GB internal storage. It can record up to 60 pictures
per second, and offers selectable duplex audio recording and transmission.
The DVIP Network Viewer provides access to live and recorded images with
full, quad, nine-way and sixteen-way displays, and recompression of images on
playback.
