JDSU's new digital monitoring application is a compact, scalable monitoring
platform designed to meet the needs of digital network operators. Capable of
capturing MPEG transport streams as well as performing complete real-time
monitoring and analysis of these streams, it allows operators to gain visibility
into the digital traffic, identify problems with equipment or content, and
minimize downtime.
The JDSU NetComplete Digital & IP Video Service
Monitoring Application is part of the TruStream family of digital and IP video
test solutions, which offer the most in-depth and accurate end-to-end MPEG
transport stream testing for every phase of a network's life cycle.
Highlights
- Both IP and non-IP interface probes available to provide maximum range of
monitoring
- Simultaneous monitoring of all MPEG transport streams contained within a
GigE link
- All major digital video broadcasting (DB) interfaces available:
- QAM: Used primarily for cable type application
- QPSK: Used for applications where the DV transport stream is transported
over satellite
- COFDM/8VSB: Used for application where the DV transport stream is
transported over a terrestrial RF signal
- ASI: Used primarily within the DV processing center to move the DV signal
between network elements
- GigE: Used for IP transport of Digital Video
- Scaleable system designed to grow as your network grows.
Applications
- Continual monitoring of the DV transport stream over RF or IP transports,
24x7, to detect minor problems before major outages occur
- Real-time digital & IP video monitoring at full line rate of
transmission
- Digital Video Service Monitoring Server provides aggregated viewing of
digital video monitoring system
Key Features
- Probes that allow the system to interface the system to various points of
the network and perform the continuous monitoring of the video service.
- Element Management System (EMS) aggregate information and local views of
digital video content?
- Probes and EMS only take 1 rack unit of shelf space
- TR 101 290 Priority 1, 2, and 3 error analysis
- Space saving mainframe one rack-mount unit to host multiple Probes and
communicate northbound
- Availability of SNMP interfaces
- RAID 0 Mirrored Hard Drives
