| Industrial Video Now Shipping Class I Division 1 PTZ Cameras

Industrial Video & Control Co. (IVC), a leading provider of networked-based
video surveillance systems, announced today that it has expanded its certified
camera line with several new cameras. IVC is now shipping versions of its Class
I Division 1 pan/tilt/zoom camera.
For over a year and a half, IVC has
been successfully selling its low-cost, Class I Division 2 PTZ cameras to
customers that demanded a high performance camera for use in areas where
ignitable concentration of gases or vapors may exist. Division 1 specifications
are similar to Division 2 with the added requirement that the device must be
intrinsically safe, incapable of causing ignition of a mixture of flammable or
combustible material. IVC has designed its Class 1 Division 1 cameras to meet
this requirement. These cameras are available in 18x zoom and 26x zoom versions.
The cameras are housed in rugged, stainless steel enclosures. They are IP-ready
and include both RJ-45 and multimode ST fiber connectors.
"We have been
very successful in the petrochemical industry," states Bill Richards, IVC's
vice-president of engineering. "Our customers wanted additional options at a
reasonable price point. The innovative design of these new units significantly
cuts the cost, so we are able to price the cameras 30% below the
competition."
All of IVC's Class I cameras are tested and certified by
Factory Mutual. The Division 1 cameras are tested for use in environments as
defined by Groups C and D, specified in Article 500 of the National Electrical
Code. These cameras are fully supported by IVC's Relay Server and View Station
software packages.
